The Data Management Coordinator (DMC) is a Payload Operations Integration (POI) flight control position that manages the onboard International Space Station (ISS) data and video systems. These ISS data and video systems are operated to capture
and downlink various types of scientific and operational data. The DMC position requires knowledge in communications and command systems and is responsible for maintaining an in-depth understanding of the onboard data and video systems.
Configures, monitors, and manages the onboard data and video systems during real-time execution to support successful experiment operations.
Reports to the Payload Operations Director (POD) and coordinates data/video-related activities with flight controllers at the Johnson Space Center (JSC).
Coordinates with International Partner (IP) flight controllers from the European and Japanese Space Agencies.
Console position is staffed 24-hrs/day, 7-days/week

The desired knowledge base for this job includes an understanding of Systems Engineering. Network or Voice Communication experience. Strong Troubleshooting and Analytical Skills. Problem Analysis and Resolution.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other Technical Field preferred. Commensurate military service in a technical or leadership field considered. 1-5 years of operation experience. Entry-level position.
Motivated self-starter. Ability to work with minimal guidance and oversight once clear objectives are established. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to establish and maintain successful work relationships with
those contacted in the performance of this position. Ability to work in a team environment and to meet deadlines.
US citizenship is required.
Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, prolonged sitting while using the computer and the telephone and attending meetings, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication,
constant mental alertness. Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information and data. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to travel as required by the Company.
